FTTH (Fiber to The Home) is a kind of transmission cable used to connect directly to a home user or a business user. With no limits to its bandwidth, wavelength and transmission technology and being suitable for the application of various new services, FTTH cable is the best solution for the connection between the internet backbone to the user’s desktop.
Many domestic small factories modified electric-wires equipment to produce FTTH cable. They used unqualified fibers which is with very cheap price 3USD/KM to imitate G657 bend-resistant fiber, waste electric-wires and rubber slippers smashed as pvc raw material for the LSZH outer sheath. Those inferior cables will cause many problems such as short transmission distance, low bandwidth, intermittent signal and easy-to-crack of the cable jacket in several months, etc.
The optical fiber unit is positioned in the centre. Two parallel Fiber Reinforced Plastics (FRP) are placed at the two sides. A steel wire as the additional strength member is also applied. Then the cable is completed with a black or color LSZH sheath.
